The Division of Information Technology Services (ITS) is responsible for the safe, efficient and responsible use of technology throughout the agency. ITS provides solutions that support DODD business. Job DescriptionWhat will you do? Supervise unit of information Technology Services (ITS) staff whose primary duties involve writing analyzing & designing computer programs/systems for mainframe computer or open system, clerical support staff, other technical staff, &/or direct & oversee contract staff involved in development of complex & specialized programs: assign & prioritize work, interview applicants & recommend hiring decisions, evaluate staff performance, review program & system documentation & test results, monitor work progress, orient & train new staff &/or recommend training seminars/classes for staff, assist staff in resolving difficult computer problems & answer technical questions, establish & enforce unit policies & procedures, ensure programming standards are followed & conduct staff meetings. Implement & manage ITIL practices with the agency: Ensure consistent service design (e.g., completes listing of services available to customers & processes to access the services; ensures ITS services are delivered per agreements) Oversee service operation & incident management (e.g., ensure single point of entry & exit for incidents & service requests, restore operations as soon as possible based on Service Level Agreements (SLAs), confirm requests are fulfilled (e.g., service requests for information or software installs), work to resolve the Root Cause of incidents in order to prevent them from reoccurring. Analyze & design large &/or complex computer systems; analyze user needs & existing functions; analyze hardware & software alternatives; review &/or write system documentation; review &/or develop system test data & procedures & oversee & monitor system test results &/or design data base files. Provides technical computer assistance/information to users; troubleshoot & correct complex computer-related problems (e.g., data base design; major system errors); coordinate work between information technology specialists &/or analysts & data entry &/or production staff; contact &/or meet with users to discuss program/system plans, revision &/or problems; work with all ITS management to ensure all customer SLAs & Operating Level Agreements between ITS groups are maintained; contact &/or meet with Ohio Department of Administrative Services computer representatives to coordinate data base storage, computer operations &/or to exchange information; estimate time & cost for development &/or maintenance projects; attend training classes &/or seminars; read literature to keep abreast of & evaluate any emerging trends & technologies.
