Job Description

Overall responsibility for leading the development and execution of the Neuroscience brand strategy and operational marketing programs in Switzerland & Austria.

Collaborates with cross-functional partners across the organization as a key member of the Jazz Pharmaceuticals CHAT country cluster leadership team.

This role demands a leader with a vision of what “best in class” marketing looks like and the drive, energy, and ambition to build this capability in the Swiss and Austrian Neuroscience area. The role requires high levels of leadership, cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills as well as an agility to work both strategically and operationally and to work independently with extensive international exposure.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the commercial launch plan(s) for Neuroscience products in Switzerland & Austria to drive launch readiness and optimize the launch:

  • Based on robust market insights, develop key strategic priorities

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop the overall commercial launch plan

  • Ensure all internal and external launch materials and programs are reviewed and approved in accordance with JAZZ Pharmaceuticals procedures and meet the needs of our customers

  • Continued responsibility for the development and implementation of the post-launch marketing strategies and tactics to optimize performance

  • Maintain focus on the agreed key strategic priorities targeting all groups of HCPs

  • Monitor the implementation of the brand and tactical plan, course correcting where required

  • Anticipate future trends in market dynamics, therapeutic approaches and healthcare professional needs and adapt strategies and plans accordingly

  • Oversee the development and implementation of the congress plan in collaboration with Medical

  • Develop and implement the commercial brand strategies and plans for the established portfolio

  • Build the reputation of JAZZ Pharmaceuticals as a partner in Neuroscience

  • Maintain focus on the agreed key strategic priorities for our current products

  • Build collaborative relationships with key opinion leaders and relevant societies

  • Co-develop and implement programs and materials with field-based professionals and stakeholders, from insights gathered through market research, customers, and the field

  • Congress management and ECM/Medical education planning and execution in collaboration with Medical

  • Effective collaboration with Sales, Medical and Market Access cross functional partners

  • Drive and engage the overall organization on product strategy and tactics

  • Lead and challenge the organization on product positioning, strategy implementation and tactics execution 

  • Drive cross-functional alignment and collaboration on brand & tactical plans

  • Effective collaboration with the EUR/INT Marketing teams and cross functional partners

  • Provide insights and input into the development of the EUR/INT marketing plans

  • Support alignment with EUR/INT marketing plans where it makes sense

  • Additional leadership responsibilities within the Business Unit

  • Dotted-line responsibility for Marketing & Sales Manager Neuroscience

  • Overall responsibility for Marketing Strategy and overseeing projects and tactics run by local M&S Manager

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to M&S Manager, supporting her/his development of marketing skills

  • Member of EUR/INT Neuroscience Leadership Team

  • Represent affiliate and local Business Unit priorities in Neuroscience Leadership Forum (acting as BUD) and contribute to broader BU strategy

  • Member of the CHAT Leadership Team

  • Represent the Neuroscience Business Unit and contribute to CHAT cluster wide strategy and initiatives

  • Close collaboration with SFE & Analytics teams and participation in EUR/INT Sales Director Forum

  • Collaboration with EUR/INT BI team to shape qualitative market research for small markets and support implementation across CHAT

  • Drive completion of local, sales forecast and delivery to EUR/INT

  • Ensure local implementation of relevant field force trainings

  • Operate within agreed budgets ensuring optimal investment of promotional resources

  • Deliver effective financial planning and control in the preparation and execution of the plan

  • Work with the finance team to ensure that planned expense estimates are accurate and regularly updated to reflect deviations from plan

  • Manage agencies and contractors effectively to ensure high quality outputs and value for money

  • Behave ethically, responsibly, and professionally in accordance with Jazz Pharmaceuticals values and codes of practice

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Laws, Codes, corporate standards, and Procedures related to area of relevance/responsibility, in particular requirements of the Jazz Pharmaceuticals Code of Conduct

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Extensive experience in pharmaceutical marketing

  • Pharmaceutical Sales Experience in a hospital environment.

  • Neuroscience / Orphan Drug experience preferred

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree or equivalent required (Life Science and/or MBA preferred)

  • Excellent IT skills – familiar with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and inspirational

  • Results orientated

  • Strong analytical, strategic, and planning skills

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills and has ability to influence and generate commitment from others without direct authority

  • Ability to drive projects forward work on own initiative and work with a cross-functional team

  • Strong project management skills to meet deadlines

  • Solid understanding of market access and medical functions and how these bests contribute to a successful patient access approach.

  • Excellent verbal and written interpersonal/ communication skills to interact with Healthcare Professionals and colleagues in 1:1 and group settings

  • Ability to work well and deliver under pressure

  • Responsibilities may require working outside of “normal” hours, to meet business demands.

  • Fluency in German and English (additional French language skills preferred), both oral and written

  • Understanding of Swiss and Austrian business culture

  • Drivers’ license
