Position Overview

The Global Supply Chain Management Regional Operations team is responsible for ensuring inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand using data analytics. The role requires partnership with numerous stakeholders including but not limited to Commercial, Site Operations, Finance, and other manufacturing and supply chain support functions, all in order to build robust demand and supply plans to ensure customers receive the right amount of product at the right place, at the right time.

This individual will spend approximately six months in the Site & Market Support Role, before moving into the Network Strategy Execution Role within the same North American team (The roles are detailed below). While supporting our North America Markets and Sites, the employee will gain experience that will enable them to more strongly contribute within the Network Strategy Execution role. 

While serving in the Site & Market Support Role, the incumbent will function as the single point of contact for relevant site(s) as well as key Commercial stakeholders. Responsibilities include influencing, managing and prioritizing business requirements to ensure supply in the 0-to-36-month horizon. This includes determining short and mid-term needs, managing aspects of the integrated business planning process, supporting the 5 Year Plan and Assumptions Based Review process, and providing support to implementation of Supply Chain Strategies.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to:

Regional/Market (Commercial) facing:

  • Primary point of contact for Regional Commercial teams (US + Canada). Understands regional and market strategy and translates into supply needs. Proactively evaluates supply risk visibility and assesses and implements opportunities.

  • Builds partnerships with key commercial stakeholders including brand managers, demand planners, sales directors, and business unit leads to drive business outcomes and support improvement activities. 

  • Engages Market Demand Reviews; evaluates trends and forecasts, monitors market/product inventories, and aligns market strategies with operations.

  • Leads S&OP process connected to Commercial Business Unit (Species), driving process standardization.

  • Manages supply issues (demand and/or manufacturing driven) in accordance with escalation and allocation principles. Works with region/market on supply issue communication/management

  • Coordinates proactive resolution of cross species/product resource constraints.

Site (Manufacturing) facing:

  • Primary Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) point of contact for select manufacturing sites within region.

  • Works closely with Site Planning to align manufacturing plan to meet customer needs. Maintains alignment with Site Directors, Site Planners, IPT leads, etc. Periodic site visits to foster knowledge and relationship management.

  • Manages supply issue communication and partners with the site to develop recovery plans. Works with sites to proactively identify supply risks.

  • Supports and/or leads aspects of the integrated business planning process. Supports site supply and regional supply review processes. Facilitates Sales and Operations Planning Process (S&OP) including coordination of site involvement. Supports other planning processes/forums as required.

  • Interfaces w/ site Tier and engages sites regarding metrics (customer service level, backorders, lost sales, inventory of questionable value (IQV), Months of Supply (MOS), etc.) as they relate to market needs.

  • Works with GSCM Business Process Team and site planning in local/regional SCM process roll out, management and maintenance (i.e. Mid Term Planning MTP)

  • Works with Value Chain Team on regional requirements for product launches relative to site/market.

  • Manages Regional/local siting and sourcing requirements.

  • Supports Local/Regional 5YP/10YP development and assists with annual Assumption Based Review (ABR) Process to identify and mitigate identified long term capacity constraints.

While serving in the Network Strategy Role, the incumbent provides Supply Chain expertise as the GSCM representative on key strategic initiatives. This support includes scenario planning (e.g., capacity modeling and analysis) to support strategy and workstream development, as well as developing and executing supply chain transfer plans. The position requires close collaboration and leadership of cross functional teams compromised of Global Supply Chain, Global Regulatory Affairs, Labeling, Material Master Data, Finance, Quality, Transfer Team, Transfer Donor Sites and Transfer Receiving Sites, Marketing & Commercial and requires sound understanding our Company, Operations and Manufacturing Sites, key company business processes, product physical & financial flows, and awareness of regulatory, quality, and technical processes/ requirements.

Primary activities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Serves as Global Supply Chain Management (GSCM) interface for assigned Regional Network Strategy Workstream(s) to provide expertise and insight during the development of network strategy and workstream execution plans.

  • Responsible for capacity modeling of network scenarios in assigned region(s) to optimize capacity and asset utilization and support the associated justification of capital.

  • Proactively identifies supply chain issues and risks during the entire transfer period, associated with the various scenarios being considered and recommends appropriate resolutions or mitigations.

  • Coordinates a multidisciplinary team focused on the execution of supply related transfer activities. Topics taken into account by this team include (but are not limited to):

  • Set up and coordination of switch plans with all relevant stakeholders (Donor & Receiving Sites, Global Regulatory Affairs (Labelling), Quality and the Material Master Data Management Team).

  • Coordination of dossier & variation timelines with Global Regulatory.

  • Coordination of Inventories and production across donor and receiving sites.

  • Aligns last production date by the donor site(s) and first production date of the receiving site(s)

  • Facilitates Phase out of old UINS.

  • Manages each switch plan as a project, applying required project management elements.

  • Provides input and guidance for UIN strategy (to determine if existing UIN can be used or if a new UIN is required)

  • Provides transfer and switch plan updates to GSCM stakeholders.

  • Participates as an active Transfer team member joining required workstream process and governance meetings and supports overall Transfer methodology.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree required with an advanced degree or equivalent desirable.

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in supply chain management, planning, market or site operations required.

  • Previous SAP and Aera experience preferred. 

  • APICS certification preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others, especially those of peer groups, leadership, and those outside of immediate organization.

  • Candidate must have strong cross functional relationship skills, project management, business, and/or operations experience, and deep knowledge of the Supply Chain business. 

  • Desired skills include proactive mindset, ability to make complex problems understandable by various other groups and ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.

The salary range for this role is

$126,500.00 – $199,100.00

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.

The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
