A Day in Your Life at MKS:

As the EMEA Trade Compliance Manager within our Global Supply Chain organization you will ensure that EMEA regional MKS’ import and export activities comply with international trade laws and regulations. This role will manage global trade compliance processes, from documentation to risk management, ensuring accurate tracking, classification, and regulatory compliance.

Additionally, you will collaborate with external customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth import/export processes and avoid delays. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative cross regional international environment navigating multiple organizations, sites, cultures and practices.

In this role you will report to the Director of Global Trade Compliance, based in the US.

You Make an Impact By:

  • Develop and lead oversight of our regional import and export trade compliance operations in a matrixed environment being executed by the business units across at our locations across EMEA. Serve as a primary regional advisor and trainer for local teams.
  • Optimize duty mitigation and recovery strategies.
  • Identify and mitigate trade compliance risks (e.g., restricted parties, classification errors, licensing, documentation gaps).
  • Support import/export operations and special projects, including HTS classification and export license management.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accurate HTS classification and origin determination.
  • Resolve compliance issues by coordinating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Use trade systems and data sources to monitor alerts, analyze trade data, and detect compliance risks.
  • Support preferential trade agreements (e.g., USMCA, KORUS, ILFTA).
  • Provide data analysis to enhance global trade compliance integrity and efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to global trade policies and country-specific regulations.
  • Manage regional customs audits and assessments.

Skills You Bring:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in import/export compliance, international trade, or a related field
  • Experience with customs software and trade compliance tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, E2Open, or compliance-specific platforms)
  • Knowledge of EMEA regional customs regulations and US and EMEA export control laws.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
  • Strategic, pragmatic and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Excellent stakeholder management at different levels of the organization with experience in a complex global business environment.
