This role is based in our London office, with a minimum of 3 days a week expected from the office. Note, you should expect semi regular travel to all office locations as part of this role (Cardiff, Barcelona and Dublin).

We’re looking for a Space (Property/Facilities) Lead to help us scale our strategy and lead the team who manage our global property portfolio. This is a brand new position, expanding our ‘Space & Community’ pillar, overseeing 6 brilliant team members across 4 sites. You’ll report directly to the Head of Culture and Engagement, and work closely with teams across the company to create consistent, safe and delightful office experiences which enhances cultural integration and puts the Monzonaut community at the forefront. If you love the variety of rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck into the details, as well as being future minded and able to scale and iterate at pace, then this role is for you. 

You’ll play a key role by…

  • Executing our global property strategy – Supporting with the vision for what a global property strategy at Monzo looks like, including sourcing and launching sites if and when required.
  • Collaborating across Monzo – Working with stakeholders such as Legal, Finance, TechOps and the Senior Leadership Team to ensure alignment and consistency with our approach.
  • Listening and learning – Gathering feedback and using data to continuously improve and make decisions on what’s working, and what’s not.
  • Future-proofing – We want you to set the team up for success by building a scalable function which grows with Monzo. This includes managing team members and thinking about what the future of the function can look like, too. 
  • Providing hands on support – Whether it’s building furniture for a new office or booking in visitors when the teams thin on the ground you’ll be expected to roll up your sleeves to understand and deliver our processes, identifying ways to create efficiencies, when required.
  • Managing our Scope 1 and 2 environmental commitments – You’ll work closely with our ESG team to ensure we are up to date with our scope 1 & 2 measurements, and compliant with our environmental commitments.
  • Managing budgets and Space related costs – You’ll oversee budgets across all sites and will be accountable for ensuring these are being managed effectively.
  • Creating engaging materials– adding to and reviewing our current handbook materials to ensure our processes and health and safety provisions are fit for purpose as we scale.

  • You have led property teams in a fast-paced, high-growth, and global environment.
  • You have ample experience managing and leading a team 
  • You’re proactive, full of ideas, and excited about playing a key role in Monzo’s global growth strategy
  • You’re used to operating within a data-driven environment to inform decisions and measure impact.
  • You thrive in dynamic environments and are comfortable collaborating with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
  • You’re passionate about creating an inclusive, safe and delightful employee environment that sets people up for success.
  • You have fluency in MacOS, Slack, Learning Management Systems, GSuite tools and the ability to adapt to learn new systems and processes
  • [Nice to have] You have a formal health and safety or facilities management qualification such as IWFM 7, NVQ or NEBOSH Diploma.
