I. Consultancy Assignment
UN Women, grounded in the vision of equality enshrined in the Charter of the United Nations, works for the elimination of discrimination against women and girls; the empowerment of women; and the achievement of equality between women and men as partners and beneficiaries of development, human rights, humanitarian action and peace and security. The main mission of the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Insertion and the Family (MSISF) is to develop and implement government policy in the fields of solidarity, promotion of women’s rights, the family and social development. Within this framework, UN Women and the MSISF work together to promote gender equality, women’s empowerment and the development of an integrated and resilient care economy system in Morocco. In this context, UN Women Morocco, in partnership with the MSISF, is launching a call for consultation to mobilize international technical expertise in the field of the care economy, in order to support the implementation of the activities of the “ Support for Equality between Women and Men in Morocco ” and “ Ajyal Equality ” programs, financed by the French Development Agency (AFD). Therefore, the overall objective of the consultancy is to provide strategic advisory support to ensure the technical coherence of the care economy activities planned in the two above-mentioned programs implemented by UN Women. In view of the complementarity between these two programs, the expert will be involved in strategic coordination meetings on the Care Economy component of the “Ajyal Equality” program, contribute to the development of tools and the formulation of recommendations, support capitalization processes and promote the appropriation of results by stakeholders. The close collaboration between the expert and the UN Women team of the “Ajyal Equality” program will feed the overall and integrated reflection to ensure synergy between the two programs. The consultant will be reporting to the Programme Analyst, in close collaboration with the MSISF, and will be supported by the HR focal point, who will be the point of contact on the contract and payment issues. The expert will be required to produce a quarterly report summarizing the activities carried out and the results achieved. He/she will also be required to submit a quarterly follow-up schedule including hours worked and a weekly follow-up schedule.
The consultant will have proven technical expertise in the care economy, with a thorough understanding of the issues involved in social work and the organization of care services, in particular for the elderly and dependent persons, and their link with gender equality and women’s economic empowerment.
