The Opportunity:

We have an outstanding career opportunity for a Revenue Recognition Specialist to work out of our EMEA HQ based in Reading. The Revenue Recognition Specialist role requires a skill set that enables the employee to complete the entire Sales Order process from Order Validation through Order Review to Licensing and Invoicing. This requires knowledge of Revenue Recognition principles for validating and reviewing orders, various complex and technical aspects of Licensing. The successful person will work alongside others to complete the end-to-end process associated with Revenue transactions.

What You’ll do:

  • Sales Order Validation – Review Sales Orders submitted to Finance by Sales Organization for accuracy and determine if Revenue Recognition criteria have been met.
  • Own and run consumption tracking and billing worldwide.
  • Relying on specific Revenue Recognition principles to review Sales Order pack for completeness and accuracy.
  • Fulfil shipment of Sales Order by using technical knowledge to correctly license the components detailed on Sales Order, taking into consideration the customer’s specific environment and Commvault specific licensing requirements.
  • Invoicing Sales Orders and Renewals daily and determining which invoices are Rev Rec compliant and can be posted to the General Ledger.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales Organization, Sales Management and Distribution Partners – Answer complex questions directed to Revenue Department regarding why orders do not pass Revenue Recognition criteria or what documents are needed to satisfy Revenue Recognition criteria.
  • Ownership of professional services revenue, communicating with PS Management and Field and reviewing professional services documents to determine if they are sufficient to take Revenue to the General Ledger.
  • Reviewing Maintenance Renewal detail and preparing detailed schedules for Management review.
  • Finalising various month end and quarter end functions including tie outs of Revenue to the General Ledger and Revenue analysis for quarter end audit.
  • Assist with and lead testing and roll out of Digital Transformation projects.

Who You Are:

  • Ideally 2+ years working experience in a software business or Finance Operations Team
  • Previous experience in Revenue Recognition would be an advantage but not essential
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel
  • Exceptional mathematical aptitude
  • An energetic self-starter who can work independently and as part of a team based in other geographical locations eg US, India, UK
  • Must be proactive and results-driven, along with strong analytical skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must be able to work extended hours towards the end of each quarter
  • Good attention to detail along with extensive experience processing orders/data entry. There will be some periods where the workload will be slower, and some tasks can be repetitive.
  • Strong work ethic and organisational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, SFDC and Outreach would be desirable but not essential.
