DoorDash is hiring an experienced leader to help us uplevel our ethics and compliance function. This high-visibility, high-impact position will establish the global ethics and compliance strategy in close partnership with legal, HR, product, policy, engineering, audit, and business teams. You will play a pivotal role in influencing DoorDash’s ethical standards and ensuring compliance with regulations while fostering a culture of ethical conduct across the enterprise. 

About the Role

As a Senior Manager of Ethics and Compliance, you will develop the strategy and drive DoorDash’s ethics and compliance function to ensure our policies, processes, and frameworks meet the required ethical standards. You will work cross-functionally across various regional compliance teams and business units to align on ethics and compliance policy development and propagation. This will be a highly visible role where you will work with executive leadership to report on the health of the ethics and compliance function, mature the program over time, and foster a robust organizational ‘speak up’ culture.

  • Set and champion the vision for the ethics and compliance program, including developing objectives and key results for this function.
  • Stay current on external global ethics & compliance business environment changes and implement policy enhancements to reflect the risks.
  • Enhance protocols for receiving, documenting, and responding to ethics-related violations and conflict of interest reports, ensuring a commitment to transparency, confidentiality, and accountability. 
  • Design and implement a comprehensive compliance training strategy that aligns with the overall global compliance program and supports a culture of compliance.
  • Identify process gaps and roll out technical solutions including innovative uses of technology for process enhancements or efficiencies.
  • Reporting on DoorDash’s ethics and compliance program to the executive leadership team.
  • Monitoring and managing reports made to our reporting hotline, and ensuring that all reported matters are appropriately investigated and documented in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating annual ethics and compliance risk assessments and managing the ethics and compliance team’s contribution to DoorDash’s organizational risk-management system.
  • Managing our annual compliance certification and training campaigns.
  • Developing, launching, and analyzing the results of our periodic culture of compliance survey.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert in the areas of meals, gifts, travel, entertainment, conflicts of interest and similar areas.
  • Conducting internal investigations, as required, and preparing investigation reports of findings and conclusions with respect to the matters investigated.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in ethics and compliance, risk management, policy, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of managing ethics and compliance programs in a fast-paced environment, preferably in technology or finance sectors.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to ethics, compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the practical application of the US Department of Justice and Federal Sentencing Guidelines in assessing the effectiveness of compliance and ethics programs.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to align on ethics and compliance standards and processes.
  • Ability to think laterally and anticipate downstream effects of activities that could impact compliance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to clearly convey regulatory complexities to various stakeholders, including presenting reports to senior management and regulatory bodies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations with discretion and integrity.

Compensation

The successful candidate’s starting pay will fall within the pay range listed below and is determined based on job-related factors including, but not limited to, skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. Base salary is localized according to an employee’s work location. Ranges are market-dependent and may be modified in the future.

In addition to base salary, the compensation for this role includes opportunities for equity grants. Talk to your recruiter for more information.

  • For salaried roles: flexible paid time off/vacation, plus 80 hours of paid sick time per year.
  • For hourly roles: vacation accrued at about 1 hour for every 25.97 hours worked (e.g. about 6.7 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 3.4 hours/month if working 20 hours/week), and paid sick time accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked (e.g. about 5.8 hours/month if working 40 hours/week; about 2.9 hours/month if working 20 hours/week).

The national base pay range for this position within the United States, including Illinois and Colorado.$159,800—$235,000 USD
